Eugene “Gene” L. Argust, Sr. of Sun City, AZ, passed away on Friday, March 11, 2016 at the age of 80 after a valiant battle against cancer.

Gene was born on December 4, 1935 in Walkermine, CA. As a young man, he developed a love of the theater and did summer stock in New York and worked in the entertainment industry. He then dabbled in other odd jobs before finding his life’s vocation as a master plumber from which he retired after 30-years in Long Beach, CA.

Gene and Stella retired to Sun City in 1995. He was a fun-loving, energetic man always ready for an adventure and to make new friends. Family and friends also appreciated that he was a straight shooter and did not mince words. He was an active golfer and bowler to the very end. He also served as president of the board of Sunshine Service for five years.

Gene is survived by his wife, Stella; his siblings, Darlene Winters and Jed Argust; his children Michael, Charlene, Tonya, Rich, Debbie, Michelle, Gene Jr, Christina, Jillene, Michelle, Lance, Lisa, Bryan and Barry; 30 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his mother, Helen Endorf and father Leonard Argust.
